Sony has revealed that over 1.2 million Vita handhelds have been sold as of February 26, 2012, with software sales figures, both retail and digital, exceeding 2 million.

The Vita was released in Japan back in December of last year, and was brought over to western shores last week. As of 19th February, the handheld has sold 578,812 copies in Japan alone.

Was there any doubt that Call of Duty would hit the PlayStation Vita? Well, if there was it can all be put to rest – Sony has revealed that the next iteration of Activision's war shooter series will see a release on its fancy do-all handheld.

PS Vita’s [west] launch is just a few days away and here comes some quite surprising news.

Yep, you got that right. At launch Sony’s new handheld will have 31 titles – with this number it breaks PS2′s record, which offered 29 titles on its west release day.

System launches often feature ports of games from other consoles and handhelds, probably because it's safer for companies to bring these titles over, compared to investing in some new and unproven intellectual property.

Turns out, PlayStation Vita is no different. Although you'll find a variety of new IP and sequels, a few publishers hope to entice you with games that appeared several months and even years ago across different platforms.

Sony’s newest handheld is almost here and damn does it have a good launch line-up. Boasting more than 20 titles at launch, the PS Vita could have the best critically acclaimed line-up of any console ever release, but whether that will generate into sales remains to be seen. With so many titles to choose from, here are my top 10 most anticipated PS Vita Launch titles.
